Tadoba National
park or Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve is one of Maharashtra’s important and
oldest wildlife forest reserve which was established in the year 1955 located
in Chandrapur district on eastern side of state. The tiger reserve widely
consist of 225 sq. mi of reserved forests and 12.55 sq. mi of protected area. The
park is very famous for tigers and known for its best tiger sightings. Tadoba
got name from the local god named as Tadoba which is worshipped by the local
people of tribes living in the nearest region of Andhari and Tadoba forests
reserves. Andhari Rivers clears its ways through deep forest of Tadoba.
The area consists
wide variety of many different flora and fauna species in the region. Mainly,
the park is famous for wildlife animal species which includes Panthers, Tigers,
Chital, Leopards, gaurs, Sambars, Mouse deer, Indian Bison, Sloth bears,
crocodiles, Antelope and Jackals. However, Tiger is the main attraction for the
tourists and can be seen often through jungle safaris organized by National
Park authorities. There are around more than 115 tigers recorded in the forest
so far, around 150 leopards and more than 350 other wildlife creatures are
present in the reserved area of Chandrapur. Matkasur named tiger is the current
king of the reserved forest.
Bird species
like Indian pitta, Stone curlew, lesser golden backed, Flycatcher, crested
treeswift, orange headed thrush, bonze winged jacana, and black-naped blue
flycatcher etc. can be seen very often. So far more than 74 species of
different beautiful butterfly species have been recorded here. A very rare in
the forest, Black Panther was seen in the year 2018 which cannot be normally
seen in this region. Endangered insect species like danaid egg-fly and great egg
fly can be spotted here.
Reserved forest
management do all the necessary things to maintain and sustain natural circle
between all the species living under the protected area. However, there are
many threats to the wildlife, nearly 40000 people still lives in the nearest
villages in the core zone. However, from many years they have maintained peace
with the wildlife, but because of the some concerns it is very necessary to
rehabilitate the 59 villages which resides in the core zone.
Climate:
From the month
of March to June is the best way to visit the Tadoba Andhari National Park because
of the high temperatures in the region. It is very easy to see tigers in
summer. If interested, one can visit Tadoba in monsoon for deep study of
vegetation and insect life in the region. Winters are also idea time to visit
the park, winters are not very cold here, it ranges from lowest temperature of
20 degree Celsius to 30 degree.

Tadoba Andhari
National Park is very well connected with the nearest cities like Nagpur and
Chandrapur, so it is very easy to reach park with private vehicle.
Tadoba National
Park is situated in Chandrapur district around 45 km away from Chandrapur city.
Tadoba is around 132 km away from Nagpur city, 785 km away from pune city, 435
km away from the Hyderabad city, and 754 km away from Nashik city. Nearest busiest
airport is available at Nagpur at 100 km away from the park gates. And nearest
Railway station is available at Chandrapur City which is about 35 km away from
the park gates.

km away from Tadoba national park.

it is the center point of India in Nagpur city around 100 km away from the Tadoba

Futala lake is around 110 km away from the Tadoba park and located in the Nagpur
city.
Anchaleshwar
Temple: Anchaleshwar temple is very old and beautifully carved temple of lord
shiva located in Chandrapur around 37 km away from Tadoba Andhari national
park.
